Allan and Birch Double Jig

Double Jig is a very old fiddle tune that was passed down by Old Archie Linklater. I'm hoping other Fiddlers will learn it. It's an awesome tune and I learned it from Paul Ben Kassi from Old Crow Yukon.

This ia a standard fiddle tune that we all play at square dances.
I love this fiddle tune and I play it all the time and it gives my arm a good workout.
This is my son Jordan's favourite tune. He's an awesome Fiddler too.
Birch is an awesome guitar player.

OLYMPIC TORCH

On November 4 th 2009 the Olympic torch came to Old Crow and I was selected to
be a Torch bearer. I was selected because I'm a World champion snowshoer and it was an honour.

I ran with my traditional snowshoes and it was an awesome experience.
 Olympic Torch

By: Allan Benjamin

The big day will be November fourth
When the Olympic torch comes north
It will come up to Old Crow
Where the torch will glow
Snowshoeing is my traditional sport
I will carry the torch from the airport
I will run with my snowshoes
Because that’s how I cruise
Trey is a student from the school
An’to carry the torch will be so cool
Trey will get to run with the flame
So he will have a famous name
To carry the torch will be Dougie’s dream
An’ he’ll mush it with his dog team
My mom will get to carry the torch
All the way up to the school porch
My mom was a Canadian ski champ
Finally she’ll get to carry the Olympic lamp
The Vuntut Gwitch’in First Nation
Will put on an Olympic celebration
At the airport the Canadian Rangers will salute
Then the jet will fly to the next torch route
The forth of November
Will be a day to remember
